Transitions II and My Latest Solo Exhibit

Hello art lovers! I'm excited to tell you about my solo show in Sheboygan, WI! As you know, I've been transitioning to traditional watercolor painting for a couple of years now and I'm so excited to share this opportunity to show you my new series entitled Ethereal Landscapes with you. I wanted to do a series on places I have been but I did not feel that realism shared the actual experiences I have had in my years on this earth. I've finally found my voice in this new series. Each piece depicts a place I have gone or a feeling I've had during my many travels. These pieces are ethereal and abstract and yet I feel you will be able to relate to them in your own way, perhaps even the feelings you have felt on your own travels.

Please join my on January 15th, 2022 from 10:30 to noon for Art and Coffee at Lakeshore Art Supply located at 1212 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53081. I and my new works will be in the gallery inside the store. I hope to see you there!! Keep well!!

For more information and the hours open at Lakeshore Art Supply, please see their website: https://www.lakeshoreartsupplies.com/

Finding My Voice

February 21st, 2021

Finding My Voice

Finding my voice in this transition from digital painting to watercolor painting is proving to be quite an adventure. I know what I want to do, just how to do it is the question. Having started out as an abstract painter and then moving into to landscapes has offered me an opportunity to blend the two styles into one. And that is what I want to do, where I want to go, with my paintings. To see an image in what's not there, to allow the mind's eye to formulate it's own opinion of what's there, is the ultimate goal. But each mind has it's own opinions, so the question is, how to capture the essence of a thing and portray it in such a way so that each individual, in their mind's eye, can see what I want to say. Please feel free to comment and offer your own experience and opinion on how you were able to accomplish something similar.
